Il peso dell’aria (The weight of Air) is a visual diary reflecting on the migrant condition as an experience of suspension, displacement and identity reconstruction. The work transcends the geographic plane, expanding into an intimate and existential dimension. The images oscillate between the dreamlike and the tangible, evoking transitional states in which time and space become fragmented. Inspired by Freud’s concept of the unheimlich, the project inhabits the threshold between the familiar and the strange; an ambiguous space where identity is quietly reshaped. In this unstable territory, traces emerge as both anchors and enigmas of affective geographies held in suspension.
